QrLens is designed with privacy in mind. We minimize data collection and process most data locally on your device.

- QR code content you scan or generate
- Camera feed or images from scanning
- Personal files or documents
Data We May Collect
- Account information (email, name) if you create an account
- Usage analytics (page views, feature usage) via Google Analytics 4
- Device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution)
- IP address (anonymized through Google Analytics)
3. Local Storage
QrLens uses your browser's localStorage to store application data locally on your device. This includes:
- Your QR code scan history
- Created QR codes
- Favorited items
- Application settings and preferences
- Theme preferences
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it. You can clear this data at any time through the Settings page or by clearing your browser data.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Tag Manager (GTM) — Tag management for analytics and marketing scripts
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — Website usage analytics and reporting
- Google AdSense — Display advertising
- Supabase — Authentication and data storage (for registered users)

Local data (scan history, created QR codes, settings) is stored on your device indefinitely until you clear it through Settings or your browser.
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default retention settings (14 months).
8. Children's Privacy
QrLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of QrLens after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
